# Create an exchange

Available to roles: <Badge color="blue">Owner</Badge> <Badge color="blue">Exchange</Badge>

You can exchange funds between supported currencies — crypto to crypto, crypto to fiat, or fiat to crypto — directly from your merchant dashboard.

  <Step title="In your merchant dashboard, go to the Balances tab and click the currency you want to spend." />

  <Step title="Click Exchange." />

  <Step title="Select the target currency." />

  <Step title="Enter the amount you want to spend or get.">
    Enter an amount in the **Spend** field to specify how much of your selected currency to exchange, or in the **Get** field to specify how much of the target currency you want to receive. Review the exchange rate, fee, and final amount before proceeding.

  <Step title="Click Exchange, then click Accept to confirm.">
    The exchange rate is fixed for one minute. If you accept before the timer expires, you receive the exact amount shown. If the timer runs out, a new rate is calculated and fixed for another minute. Click **Cancel** to cancel the exchange.
